DiBruno Bros. French Fry Bar

Rik and I went over to the Comcast Center check out the $200 Sony eReaders today.  While he made his purchase, I went scouting for lunch at the food court.

Ah, french fries!  The ultimate lunch.  Jenn and I ate the fry, fry, hummus lunch at Reading Terminal Market many times before the Sandwich Stand and their sweet potato fries went to that giant market in the sky.

For today’s lunch, DiBruno Brothers had me at “gourmet dipping sauces”.

After consultation with the very gracious counter lady, I went for the spicy abruzze cheese, the wasabi mayo, and the classic, fritesaus (or, as I kept reading it, friteasaurus.)  Of the 3, Rik and I both agreed that the wasabi mayo was clearly the best.  Of the other two, I preferred the spicy cheese; the fritesaus was a little too thick for its own good.

The fries hit the spot; they were the golden crispy brown that you need to call yourself Belgian frites, with not a soggy or undercooked one in the bunch.  Plain, they were a smidge undersalted for my liking, but the sauces were tasty enough that I didn’t care.  At $4 for a large, this is probably the best deal going in the Comcast Center food court, so go give them a shot!
